Meet Rachel
Rachel (she/her) joined Jory MHC in 2023 and came with several years of experience working with children, teens, and young adults across different levels of care. Her extensive work experience gives her perspective on the many ways people can be impacted by mental health symptoms and in how to offer effective and goal-oriented support. Rachel recognizes the importance of creating a supportive space where clients can navigate life’s difficult experiences while experiencing much needed support and validation. Rachel works with young people in middle school, high school, and adults up to age 30.
Rachel works with people wanting the focus on the following topics in therapy:
ADHD / attention struggles, Adjustment + Transitions, Anger Management, Neurodivergence, Anxiety, Childhood + Adolescent Issues, Depression, PTSD and Trauma Healing, Relational Conflict, Disordered Eating, and Self Esteem + Worth.
Rachel has also completed additional training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), offering specialized support designed to help teens and young adults manage emotions and mood more effectively through times of change and transition. DBT is a structured, evidence-based therapy that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices.
How DBT Helps:
Emotional Regulation: Teaches skills to manage and navigate intense emotions.
Mindfulness: Enhances awareness and acceptance of the present moment.
Interpersonal Effectiveness: Improves communication and relationships.
Distress Tolerance: Provides strategies to handle crises without making things worse.
Rachel utilizes DBT to empower individuals with practical tools to lead a more balanced, fulfilling life. DBT therapy provides support for emotional challenges, while also creating opportunities for more stability and growth. In addition to DBT, Rachel also utilizes trauma informed approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness approaches.
In Rachel’s free time, she likes to be active, go for hikes, spend time outdoors, spend time with her partner and friends, watch scary movies, and eat breakfast food.
