Training Content - Engage in learning and dialogue about Grief & Loss Theory, the ethics of diagnosing grief, the practice of curating space for grief in the therapeutic process, countertransference with grief and loss, and cultural considerations of grief, including grief and intersectionality and disenfranchised grief.

Training Providers - Valenca Valenzuela, CSWA has facilitated grief processing groups for the past 15 years and is a mental health therapist focusing on grief and loss, life transitions, intergenerational and childhood trauma, and identity and attachment. Erin Beery, LCSW is a queer clinician with 15 years of experience advocating for and supporting adolescence, women, and the LGBTQI+ community on goals related to anxiety, depression, identity, trauma, transitions and attachment, and grief and loss. Erin and Valenca started out as an supervisor/intern duo many years ago at Trillium Family Services and thank goodness they kept in touch - now both work as clinicians at Jory MHC where they continue to teach, grow, laugh, and support each other in this incredible work.

Training Logistics - Training is offered on Friday, November 15th from 9:00am - 4:00pm in SE Portland at Awakenings Wellness Center at 1016 SE 12th Ave. Training will be offered all day, with a break for lunch from 12:00-1:00; lunch can be brought from home or purchased at a nearby restaurant. This training costs $175.

Training CEUs - Participants will earn 6 Ethics CEUs for this course.
